Interview with Debut Author, Larynn Ford

Meda White
When she becomes the victim of several life-threatening incidents all in one week, it seems fate is out to put an end to Lynzi Lancaster. Her close calls with death trigger a series of dreams about a magical place and a certain man who broke her heart twenty years ago. Layne Brady. Could her life get any stranger?

When the star of her dreams announces in person that he had faked his death for twenty years in order to protect her, oh, and that he’s not actually human, the fireworks begin. Does she believe his extraordinary story of another world, the magical world of the Fae? Do fairies really exist? Should she trust her heart? Could her dream come true?

Larynn Ford began reading romance in her early teens and became interested in writing in high school. She’s a daydreamer and a romantic who is intrigued by the paranormal and loves to let her mind wander, always searching for a happily ever after ending to her dreams.

At home in East Central Alabama, she worked as a cook and cashier before becoming a wife and mother, earned an education degree, taught school and worked in customer service. All the while her daydreams stacked up in the archives of her mind.
She finally put some of those ideas on paper and began writing in 2009 hoping her dream of publication would one day come true.
In 2010, she joined Romance Writers of America and the Southern Magic Chapter in Birmingham, Alabama.
She’s going to keep on dreaming and searching for those happy endings.

Larynn and I met at a Southern Magic meeting last year and she has been so kind to share her journey with me.

1. What inspires you to write?

Song lyrics, my own memories like in the case of one of my current projects, a story my granddaddy told about a black panther watching him plow the field many years ago. I’ve put a little twist on the panther sighting and created another world Lynzi will learn about when Layne introduces her to were-panthers in their next book.

2. What do you do when you get stuck?
Usually when I get stuck, I’m tired so a good night’s sleep helps. I’m at my best early in the morning and seem to get more done if I start early.

3. What do you love most about your genre?
You have got to love the hero types created in paranormal worlds. Of course there are males on both sides of good and evil just as there are in real life but the good ones are larger than life. They are extra handsome and hunky, extra loyal and loving. Who doesn’t love that kind of man?

4. Can you tell us one good and one bad character trait for your hero and heroine?
The same trait can be both good and bad and this is the case with Lynzi and Layne. Like so many of us, they are fixers. They take care of their loved ones and make life good for everyone, sometimes to a fault which sets off a few fireworks from time to time with these two.

5. What’s next in your writing world?
I’m so excited to announce I have signed a second contract with Soul Mate Publishing for my were-cougar book, Rescued. I’ll begin edits soon to get this book ready but there are ideas for future stories still rumbling around in my head.

Congratulations on your release, Larynn, as well as your future books. Best wishes for much success!

For my blog readers, I will draw from among the commenters on Friday morning, April 19th, at 8:00 AM CST and giveaway a digital copy of IN MY WILDEST DREAMS from Amazon.

Leave your emailaddressATwhateverDOTcom and answer this question: Who is in your wildest dreams? A movie star? The boy/girl next door? A handsome/beautiful fairy?

  1. Apart from my hubby (and he could answer this for me) my first choice would be Wolverine with Thor a close second…or the actors who play them.

  2. I think I have already met my wildest dream and believe you me, you don’t want to know! However my second choice would be Don Juan D’Marco. LOL He of course would be the epitome of suave, cool, and romantic fantasy.
