Southern Scene: Layers of Clouds

I love looking at the sky. Clear skies, cloudy skies, sunrises, sunsets, full moons, new moons, and everything in between. In a moment, the sight can clear my clouded mind, often helping me refocus on the things that matter most.

It may be difficult to tell from the photo, but this sky had many levels and layers of clouds. I was reminded of the people in our lives and the characters I enjoy writing about. They’re not one-dimensional, and there’s always more than meets the eye. Meeting someone new is like unwrapping a present. We peel back the layers to get to the gooey center and see what’s beneath the surface. It happens in real life, and in fiction. And in both, we should go deep and enjoy the journey.

  1. I am also fond of watching the sky. There is something intriguing about the layers of the atmosphere and the layers of the human form, body, mind and spirit. The light and the darkness that is inherit in all things helps one understand what a minute and intricate part each of us are,
